XM Satellite Radio Usability Study
So for one of my classes, I’m doing a usability study on a site of my choice. I chose to crtique XM Satellite Radio.
Basically, a usability study of a site is what is good, what is bad, and what needs to be improved. Before a site goes live, the design of the site is given to a select audience comprised of many different users. Those users are monitored to see how they use the site and can effectively determine if the site’s layout needs to be reworked or is easy for the end user to use.
It’s pretty apparent that XM didn’t bother doing a usability study on their website. There are several aspects of their site that are severely lacking. In my class and assignment, I am analyzing these aspects of the site. The site I am designing isn’t completely done, the wireframe link is active, but the design link is not at the current time of this post. To view what I have so far that will be completed by the beginning of February and will likely get a follow-up post noting completion, you can view them here: Wireframe for XM Satellite Radio and Design for XM Satellite Radio
