National Mitten Registry

Are you kidding me? Only in Canada!

I stumbled across this article earlier today where it states that in Canada if you’ve lost a mitten, there’s still hope out there that someone will found it and it’ll be put into a database, so to speak. Works perfectly for those who have diamond studded mittens and are always losing them….right….

Sure, it’s an interesting idea. But is it really a severe issue in Canada that people are losing mittens, becoming depressed because they won’t recover their mitten and reunite it with its mate? Here’s a crazy idea: go buy a new pair. It won’t break the budget, I promise. The whole idea is just weird and odd. But then again, this is Canada, where people are laid back and don’t have to deal with more important things like going to war (U.S.), increasing crime rates (U.S.), sexual predators on the rise and not registering in the National Sex Offender Registry (U.S.), the sale of shipping ports to a foreign company with ties to terrorist (U.S.), or the increasing cost of cable TV rates (U.S. – OK, so that’s not the most important thing we’ve to worry about).

So please, I urge you that if you’ve lost a mitten in Canada, please register it and make sure it gets to its proper home.
