Featured Music: Fort Minor – Where’d You Go
I was listening to Sirius Hits 1 tonight after listening to 1st Wave all last night and today because it was a Smiths/Morrissey marathon, playing only those songs by either “group.” I came across some new music. One thing I do like about Sirius is their display. They always keep you updated. For example, when there’s new music, it will explicitly say so after the song title. Plus, the decades channels always show the year after the song. That’s handy sometimes, too. But I digress.
Released on November 22, 2005, the song is by Fort Minor and it’s called Where’d You Go. It’s a pretty cool song. It’s sung by a ‘couple’ who reminisce about their past love and basically missing each other. She wants him to come back home and that is, as I said, all intermixed with reminiscing of the good times such as the cookouts on the grill, etc. Check out the lyrics for Fort Minor Where’d you Go.
I think it’s the piano in the background with the hip-hop beat in the foreground that makes it a cool song. If you like the background music of Linkin Park, specifically the keyboard, guitar, MC work, you’ll probably like this, although it’s more toned down than Linkin Park. The reason I say this is because Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park is in the group. Add the music to the lyrics and it’s a nice mix!
Download the song on iTunes I’ll have to check out the rest of the album since I’m pretty intrigued by this song and the reviews on iTunes seem to praise it!
