Typical Weekend

So as a typical Friday/Saturday night for Tiffany and I, we went to two carnivals in one night and wasted some money as usual. Last weekend, we went to this carnival in Middle River. It wasn’t all that fun so we decided to go to our favorite, or soon to be favorite, hangout Scoops. It’s an ice cream parlor, sort of.

While we were there, we saw someone walk by with an inflatable hammer and that sparked out interest since a) we knew there had to be another carnival nearby or b) she was using it as a weapon of defense. Since the latter didn’t seem plausible, we drove around and found the second carnival in one night. It was at the American Legion in Dundalk.

We hung out there for a while, one a prize each (I won a stuffed dog and Tiffany won a stuffed gorilla that sheds). Then we pretty much called it a night after that. However, this weekend, we decided to go to another carnival in Middle River that she knew about. I had seen another carnival advertised in a local newspaper I read and we both smiled and basically had our night planned out with her friend Diane who was pretty nice and fun to be around.

We wound up going to The Our Lady Hope carnival for a while and played a water gun game (well, we played it a few times). The first time we played it, Tiffany’s gun wasn’t working and I won. So to be fair, the guy reset the game and we started over for no additional cost. This round, the generator blew up and the entire side of the carnival went black. To make matters worse, the loudspeakers started smoking which I had never seen before and they smelled awful. So we came back later to play and she won. She’s a cheater. End of story!

So we left there, went over to withdraw money since we were both running low on cash and went to a carnival at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Middle River. We bought wristbands to ride the scary rides all night and we were forced to go on one attraction, Mardi Gras (otherwise known as House of Mirrors to most people) because the attendant said he didn’t see us “bump our heads in there.” That was certainly amusing – he was a nice guy allowing us to essentially go on a children’s attraction (and twice at that). We rode some other rides such as the pirate ship, the tornado (spins around in a circle and you can spin in a circle – similar to the teacups but suspended in air), the ferris wheel, the round-about (supposedly the “World’s most exciting ride”) and played some games.

The three of us all walked away with a stuffed animal – Tiffany won a larger stuffed gorilla to be “the parent of the gorilla she won last week”; Diane won a a butterfly, and I won a parrot. Overall, I wasted a lot of money, but it was still worth the fun and motion sickness!! Of course, next week there’s another carnival…just saying… :)
