Purchased New Car – 2007 Civic Hybrid with Navigation

Tonight, I purchased a car for myself. It’s the first car I’ve actually purchased myself. It’s a 2007 Civic Hybrid with Navigation system, XM Radio (included) and had a small 12 miles on it (most of which I put on it before I even purchased it; I test drove it). The total cost is right around $25,000 with some good deals on it all. It’s really, really pretty. The exterior color is Magnetic Pearl (which turns out to be a blueish gray under the right lights) and the interior is also blue.

The color was a pain to find, too. Norris Honda, a local dealership around the area, had most of the hybrids in stock and had the most in stock in the region, it seems. Other car dealerships inventories I looked at online were severely lacking in this department and in addition to that, the sales representative was very nice and not pushy at all, which is a HUGE plus in my book!

The nice thing about the car is that it gets 47/51 (city/highway) miles to the gallon and switches from gasoline to electric seamlessly. You don’t even feel the car jerk or lurch forward it’s that seamless. In addition to that, it’s a green car which is always nice to have for the future with low emissions. While the price was a little higher to go green, it was well worth it and will pay off in the future with gas prices if they continue to soar when the summer comes around (and no, I don’t mean this pseudo-summer we’re having now in the mid-Atlantic region where it’s 60 degrees+ some days).

One of the other nice things is that the car is so incredibly quiet when it runs and starts up. You really have to pay attention to it to hear the engine. It’s incredible, and no I’m not just saying that because it’s my new car that I purchased. It really is super quiet. Tomorrow, hopefully, I can post some pictures and video of it. You’ll see…

Then there’s the navigation system. It’s really, really neat. It also has a calendar, unit converter, calculator, and various other neat features that I won’t even get into here since they are so numerous. It’s really an amazing vehicle and I’m really glad I made the decision! Expect pictures of it tomorrow or shortly, whenever I can find the time!
