Featured Music: Freeform Five - Easy
In light of a Chill channel coming to XM, this week’s featured music is by Freeform Five and the song is titled “Easy” off of the album “Strangest Things”.
As with most of the songs I feature, they aren’t found on terrestrial radio because they don’t fit any genre, or just because terrestrial radio is horrible [...]

Sirius Usability Study
I figured I might as well do a usability study on Sirius Satellite Radio’s website, too, since I did one for XM and found the site not usable. Here it goes - quick and dirty, though.
The Bad
-No Search Engine, but offers a SIte Map
-Vertical Scrolling
-Extensive use of Flash, with no HTML alternative (Flash loads [...]

New channels coming to XM Satellite Radio…(confirmed by a source who works for XM)
There was a page DirectTV’s website about some new channels coming to XM. Well, maybe not new channels but some interesting channels that haven’t been discussed before and all of the suddenly appeared.
Check out some of the possible new channels. (Link [...]

Featured Music: Snow Patrol - Run
This week’s featured music is probably a song a lot of people know, but it deserves the attention for it’s lyrics. It’s a great song to listen to when you’re sad or depressed, that’s for sure.
The song is Run by Snow Patrol off of the Final Straw CD. It’s a really powerful song [...]

Amusing Profiles
Read this entry first.
Now that you’ve read that, I have some more to add to that. I personally love it what people write in their profiles sometimes. One of my favorites has to be: “My name is <foreign girl name> and I’m from Kansas City, KS, USA” or some variation with the city [...]

Malware OS X Part 2
Before anyone blows this one out of proportion calling it a virus, worm, trojan, whatever, get the facts straight.
Now that’s out of the way, Secunia has issued a severe alert about malicious .zip files. These files pose as a JPEG, MOVs, etc and Finder’s “Get Info” marks them as a “Terminal Document”, and when [...]

Featured Music: JTX - Nothing Matters
This week’s featured music is pretty much only played on Sirius Satellite Radio. You won’t hear it on XM and you won’t hear it on terrestrial radio just yet. It’s pop/rock that would be played on Sirius Hits 1, if you’re a satellite radio subscriber.
The song is Nothing Matters by JTX. It [...]

Leap-A Removal - Bye_Leap-A Application
Tonight, I released an Automator script that will remove the Leap-A trojan/malware. It removes the /apphook/ directory in the ~/Library/InputManagers/ directory, removes the malicious file latestpics.tgz in the /tmp/ directory, and makes the permissions stronger on the ~/Library/InputManagers/ folder.
Thanks to Macworld.com for the removal process. Download the file @ versiontracker.com or macupdate.com. [...]

OS X Malware
Today, there’s a lot of buzz about the new trojan that’s propagating for OS X. It’s called Leap-A. To me, it’s not a big concern and doesn’t really show the vulnerability of OS X. From what I’ve read, it does prompt the user for authentication, so it’s not like it’s installed through [...]
